Invitations were sent out to our local Veterans and their families to come for a meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and homemade dinner rolls, as well as ad Brownie sundaes, It was a very festive event that our Rotary Club is very invested in.
Ron Cool, Rotary President, welcomed everyone to the dinner. John Phillips, Legion Commander, thanked the Rotarians for hosting the dinner. Danah Baldwin began the night singing the Star Spangled Banner.
There were 25 veterans and their spouses present. Veterans and their spouses introduced themselves. There were 18 Rotarians present. Rotarians also introduced themselves.
Delaney Rogers gave a presentation about her experiences at Girl’s State this past summer. She ran for office and was elected. She had a blast meeting new girls and learning about our government.
Dinner was held at the American Legion Building. Grazers catered the meal.
