Todd and Sara PHelps are the host family for the German foreign exchange student, Sara Latiegue. She arrived August3rd and has spent the last few weeks meeting people and getting used to our culture.
She is considered part of the junior class and will be with them through the end of the year.
Sara is multi-lingual in that her parents are originally from Venezuela, and they now live in Germany. Her father was also a foreign exchange student.
She has learned that American schools are very different: they don’t get to pick classes in Germany. They are given classes based on the teacher’s schedule and there are 16 required classes. They also don’t use computers as much. They also don’t say a form of the pledge of allegiance.
