NEWS RELEASE

Rotary Club of Arnold #1494

Introduces the Central Nebraska Interact Club #225704

ARNOLD, NE (October 3) — The Arnold Rotary Club #1494 proudly celebrates the beginning of the Central Nebraska Interact Club by inviting high school students from all over the county and neighboring communities to join. This Interact group will only be the third club in western Nebraska, which is quite an honor. This club is community-based and school-endorsed, which allows the group to include students from all over the region. Many of your students have attended RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) and we wanted to invite them and their friends to continue to build friendships, build community cooperation, and build upon the leadership skills many of these students already have.

Interact is an off-shoot of adult Rotary clubs all across the world.  Interact is a global network of volunteers who share a passion for enhancing and serving communities and improving lives around the world.  In this student-led organization, the members will participate in an array of service projects that address community needs at home and abroad.

AIM of INTERACT:

Connect Rotary Youth by establishing a worldwide network of students to exchange ideas and take action to solve common challenges, increasing our ability to adapt while exchanging cultures and nurturing international friendships.  Their work improves lives at both the local and international levels.

Build a stronger relationship between Rotary Youth Programs (RYLA/RYE/Interact), Rotaract and Rotary by encouraging collaboration at the district, zone and international levels through action groups and fellowships.

Expand our reach by partnering with Global Organizations to build connections and opportunities with like-minded young people around the globe.

Promote and share ideas for collaborative service projects on local and international levels.

The Interact club of Central Nebraska will meet via Zoom to plan fundraisers, expand their leadership opportunities, and support our local communities.  We have chosen Zoom meetings as our main format so students and athletes can attend without spending most of their time on the road trying to get to a meeting.  They can simply connect from home from their cell phones, a tablet, or a computer.  This face-to-face meeting style is something our world had become accustomed to, and it will save time, money, gas, and energy for better uses in their community efforts.

Administrators and Counselors, we are asking that you promote this group to your students and help us recruit interested students from your school.  If you could announce it through your student information systems, an announcement over the P.A., in homerooms, or whatever method you communicate with your high school students, we would really appreciate it.  We are inviting anyone who is interested to join.  Fill out this simple form so we can get them on our contact list for the next Zoom meeting.  (https://padlet.com/nbadgley/CentralNebraskaInteract)
