Local Club Hosts Imagine Rotary Impact Tour
The Imagine Rotary Impact Tour made a stop in Arnold on September 27th, bringing two district governors who took a guided tour, viewing all the projects the local club has completed, or is in the process of completing, in the past few years.
Part of the day’s schedule was a luncheon served at BrewBakers, where some 20 Rotarians and community leaders joined together. Arnold Junior Delaney Rogers spoke briefly about plans to start a community-based, school endorsed, Interact Club, which is a Rotary Club for high school students.
After the tour, Deb McCaslin, District 5630 Governor, said the Arnold Club is a wonderful body of people who exemplify Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self.”
“Club president Ron Cool organized a tour of the community focusing on Rotary projects that asolutely blew me away,” said McCaslin. “I knew the community hosued a great club, but I had no idea of the extent of their projects from helping fund a Pickle Ball Court to historic signage, from the handicap dock at the lake to planing new tees in the cemetery. They helped fundraise for the theater and at the lake, bathrooms and picnic shelter. Projects come small and large – from trash cans to scholarships. The tour had 50 stops, each focused on Rotary and their contributions to the community. Wow!”
One thing McCaslin was aware of was the club’s work with area youth. The club makes it possible for several high school students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards camp at Halsey each year.
“The club has so much to be proud of,” said McCaslin. “Rotary President Jennifer Jones has a great quote, ‘Imagine a world that deserves the best when we get up each day knowing that we can make a difference.’ Arnold Rotarians can do just that – get up each day knowing they have made a difference”
Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus are:

Background: The Imagine Rotary Tour was the brainchild of Rotary International President Jennifer Jones. She is on a worldwide tour focusing on Rotary’s area of service. She challenged the district governors to head out on Impact tours of their own across their individual districts. District Governors Deb McCaslin (DIstrict 5630), western and central Nebraska and Barb Bartle (District 5650, eastern Nebraska and western Iowa) thought it would be fun and impactful to join forces for a tour of the two districts the last week of September for District 5630 and the first week of October for District 5650.
District 5630 stops included Kearney, Arnold, Broken Bow, Grand Island, McCook, and Ogalala. District 5650 stops included Omaha, Shenandoah, Iowa, York and Lincoln.
