District Governor Deb McCaslin has been working on the District Convention for over a year now and has lined up a very impressive schedule for the two-day convention.  She has graciously agreed to let us piggyback our convention onto theirs so we can enjoy and learn from the sessions she already has in place, as well as meet for our own breakout sessions in the afternoon.

Cost:  $20 per Interactor or Rotary Youth Exchange students  (helps cover the costs of meals and t-shirts) Saturday only cost.

    • Opening Ceremonies at 8 a.m.
    • Rotary Youth Exchange and Interact presentations at 9 a.m.
    • Trafficking survivor speaker and educational trainer 10:30 a.m.
  • Lunch with Answering the call slide show during lunch – Halsey Fire and Update – Stu Shephard (North Platte AM)  to narrate; and RYLA regroups and moves on – introduction of Monty and Kiersten
  • Pat Merryweather – Zone director 12:45 -?
  • Interact Breakout Session At 12:45 – 2:15 p.m.:  How do you see serving in your community?  Share project ideas  (Hotel Meeting Room)
  • Interact Breakout Session at 2:30-3:50:  Vision for a District Youth Council (What do we see this council doing? What can we do to help the district-level leaders?)
  • Interact Breakout Session At 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.: Laney Badgley, Rotoract President –  Project Idea Brainstorming for the 6 focus areas 
  • Focus on Youth Round Table at 4 p.m.– Interact, Rotaract, RYE, RYLA – mini conference Nicole Badgley, Monte and Kiersten, Paula Witt, Sarah Mills At 3:50 p.m.
  • Interact help set up the buffet at 5:30 and get new name tags
  • Interactors serve the meal at 6:30 p.m. (They can wear a special name tag with their first name and what project they are currently working on so Rotarians can ask them about it while they wait.)
  • National Cowboy Poet Hall of Fame – RP Smith (If you haven’t heard him, he is really funny)

What do I need you to do?

  • Email me if you can help with serving the meal (centralneinteract@gmail.com )
  • Ask your local Rotary club to sponsor your youth attendance
  • Wear your Club t-shirt or you can change into the convention t-shirt 
  • Register for the convention and it includes a free shirt.
  • Have fun and learn a lot!
  • If your club would like to set up a booth, please let Governor McCaslin know ASAP
  • If you can, bring a silent auction basket or gift and it will be recorded to your club for the Polio Project.
