When the Bovee Fire broke out in the Halsey National Forest in October of 2022, many people, young and old, were saddened to lose the entire 4H Campground. In an effort to help with the clean-up, Delaney began the Halsey Strong campaign. Nebraska-wide she sold t-shirts and sweatshirts. Because of these t-shirts, she made her cause known to more people state-wide when she testified to the Nebraska Legislative committee which was deciding about funding the rebuilding. We are still waiting for an answer, but we are not giving up.

To make Custer County eligible for our youngest citizens to get a free book every month until they are five years old, Eli held a fundraiser by sending businesses letters, speaking on the radio, posting to facebook, and other social events to gather funds. Though the books are free to the kids from Dolly, the mailing costs need to be covered by local foundation. Please go and sign up your children and grandchildren to receive books. The fountains newly installed at the Arnold Rec Area will help keep algae from growing so freely in the lake. The village will continue to put algaecide in the edges of the water help with clearing the pond of the algae that is already there. Hopefully this will bring in more campers to the campground next summer and allow more for fishing and eventually swimming.
